When “Do Not Be Dismayed” Found Me

Welcome back to the Pray Through It Blog Series.
There was a time, while caring for Corion, when I felt completely overwhelmed. It seemed like everything was going wrong at once.
I needed someone consistent to sit with him during his dialysis. I still had to work on a job that required so much responsibility, and there were other responsibilities awaiting me in my personal life. I like I had to figure it all out alone.
It was what I call "team too much"!
While driving home from work in tears one day, I heard the Lord say, “Do not be dismayed.”

I knew that was not just a comforting thought. It was a word for me. So I looked it up in Scripture, and there it was:
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” - Isaiah 41:10
This Scripture brought me so much comfort. God was reminding me that He did not expect me to carry it all in my own strength. He promised His presence, His help, and His steady hand for that time and season.
Even in my tears, frustration, and overwhelm, He saw me. He knew. And He responded. Prayer works. It worked for me, and I know it will work for you too.
Whatever you are carrying this week, tell God about it. He knows, and He cares.
Pray through it. God has a word for you.

I built the prayer partner app, Pray Through It, as a gentle space for an overwhelmed caregiver, anyone carrying the loss of a loved one, a job loss, or other heartbreak. After walking through my own grief journey, I learned that some seasons leave us with more questions than words, but we can still bring every part of it before God for hope, Scripture, and prayer. I want to help you find the words when they don't come easy.
Let's Pray.....
God, I am feeling overwhelmed, and I do not have words big enough for this uncertainty. I am leaning into You, but today even breathing and taking the next step feels hard.
You said, “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.” Help me trust that You are here, even when frustration makes everything feel heavy and too much.
Your word promised: “I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” I am not asking for strength for tomorrow—just enough to get through today without falling apart alone. Amen.
